The Department of International Studies and History organized Indo-Korean Friendship Utsav called as “VA” which in Korean language means ‘to come here’. The two-day event on 22 July 2019 and 23 July 2019 included a variety of programmes being organized, right from the exhibition to the cultural extravaganza programme being conducted. The programme had a successful kick start with an inauguration. It was conducted on 22 July 2019 at 9:00 AM at Island, Block 1. The emcee welcomed all the distinguished members present.

The members were Dr Paul Hong, Distinguished Professor from University of Toledo (US), Dr Yeon, Head of Innovation Centre at Christ (Deemed to be University), Dr Madhumati Deshpande, Professor at Christ (Deemed to be University), Dr Vineeth Thomas, Assistant Professor at Christ (Deemed to be University). Followed by which the ribbon was cut and inaugurated the exhibition expo. The Felicitation Address was by Dr Paul Hong who stressed on the fact that friendship is the key for mutual cordial bilateral relations by imbibing the spirit of friendship in us. The vote of thanks herewith was given by Dr Madhumati Deshpande where she thanked all the guests and sponsors. A memento was given to Dr Paul Hong by Dr Yeon. Also, a memento was given to Mr Seung-Bum Kim, Samsung by Dr Madhumati Deshpande. Also, a memento was given to the team Samsung Opera House by Dr Madhumati Deshpande where she acknowledged the fact that Samsung Opera House was is one of its kind and its first setup in the campus. Overall, the programme ended on a positive note.
